2027 HPRP Opportunities Announced
The National Preservation Partners Network (NPPN), in partnership with The 1772 Foundation, is pleased to announce the opening of the 2027 round of grant funding for Historic Properties Redevelopment Programs (HPRP). Nonprofit organizations operating or seeking to start a Historic Properties Redevelopment Program (a.k.a Revolving Fund) in the United States are encouraged to submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to apply for funding by September 18, 2026.
All organizations interested in being invited to submit a full Historic Properties Redevelopment Program (HPRP) grant application should send a one-page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) to:
Kim Trent – Executive Director, National Preservation Partners Network
Kim@PresPartners.org
The Letter of Inquiry should include:
Name and address of the organization
Name and email address of the contact person for the organization
Brief overview of the organization’s current or proposed Historic Properties Redevelopment Program (HPRP)
If applying for feasibility study funding, a brief summary of why your organization is seeking to establish a Historic Properties Redevelopment Program (HPRP)
Amount of grant funding to be requested if invited to apply
A brief summary of how the organization plans to use HPRP grant funding for its program
Information on any matching funds you have or plan to have, including the names of any local funding partners that have already been identified
Please note that applications for single-property funding will not be considered. Grants are intended to fund HPRP programs (a.k.a. revolving funds) that impact multiple historic properties over time, not single-property capital campaigns. Properties used for religious purposes also will not be considered for funding. Congregations can find information about potential grant funding here: Partners for Sacred Places.

What Are Historic Property Redevelopment Programs?
Historic Properties Redevelopment Programs (HPRPs), also known as revolving funds, are proactive programs that use real estate strategies such as purchase/resale, rehabilitation, easements, options, tax credits, loans, grants, and other strategies to preserve multiple historic buildings as part of an ongoing program. Nonprofit preservation groups across the country have successfully repurposed thousands of buildings using these techniques and other innovative strategies. In the process, they have partnered with local stakeholders to tackle big issues, like economic revitalization, neighborhood development, gentrification, equitable housing, climate change and smart growth.
