1772 President Honored
On Friday, April 22, B. Danforth Ely, president of The 1772 Foundation, was honored by the Raritan Headwaters Association (RHA). The Raritan Headwaters region is located in north-central New Jersey and is defined by the area of land that drains into the North and South Branches of the Raritan River. Dan received the Ian Mackay Hero of the River Award (for the North Branch) for inspiring a continuing legacy of river protection and conservation. Dan, a New Jersey resident, has been involved with the association for many years. RHA has strong and effective water quality, education, stewardship, and land preservation programs and is a leading voice for clean water in New Jersey. The award was presented at RHA’s Earth Day celebration, which took place at the Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.
